Thank you to the 155 Edge community donors who generously donated during Move Mountains 2019!
Each fall, the Edge School community comes together to take part in Move Mountains – our annual giving day. Move Mountains is a day that celebrates Mountaineer character and expands our ability to develop personal excellence in academics and athletics. Funds raised go towards current equipment, technology, and facilities that enhance learning and athletic training for Edge student-athletes – key priorities are identified each year by our Headmaster.
Since 2017, over $265,000 has been raised through Move Mountains – funds that have been invested in updating the Learning Commons, purchasing new water bottle filling stations, classroom technology, plus new equipment, and athlete assessment and movement velocity devices to advance training in the Duckett Performance Centre.
Every dollar is matched! Each year, generous donors have offered to match each donation to double the impact! With their generosity, all gifts are matched, dollar-for-dollar. A special thank you to our matching donors in 2019: the Unruh family, McDonald Luxury Homes, and the Charron family.
Mountain Team Competition
Edge students bring their excitement, energy, and contributions of their own throughout each Move Mountains day. Edge Mountain Teams – Everest, Kilimanjaro, Logan, and Makalu – are an important part of Edge School culture. Each year teams compete for the annual Mountain Cup prize – a true badge of honour.
Move Mountains is a annual Mountain Cup event! Each team earns points for the number of donations, dollars, and awareness they raise. Donations to the general Move Mountains Fund are divided equally among the four teams.
2019 Mountain Team ranking: (1) Kilimanjaro, (2) Everest, (3) Logan, (4) Makalu
