Located on the outskirts of Calgary, Alberta with a view of the magnificent Rocky Mountains, Edge Mountaineer teams and athletes are supported in a culture of personal excellence in academics, athletics, and character. The Edge School campus facility allows our student-athletes to train and compete locally, nationally, and internationally, and in a space enjoyed year-round by professional, semi-pro, and recreational athletes and spectators alike. The Edge campus, home of the Jim Davidson Sports Complex, is a remarkable 170,000 square-foot campus and one of Calgary’s premier training and education facilities.
Enrollment: Over 300 students in Grades 3-12.
Class Sizes: Average class size is 16-20 students.
Academics: Grades are based on a percentage scale. The school year is comprised of four terms within two semesters.
Athletics: We offer skill academy programs in basketball, dance, figure skating, golf, hockey, soccer, multi-sport, and a flex academy for students training in other sports. Edge Mountaineers participate actively in the ISAA program which allows students to play sports such as track and field, volleyball, soccer and basketball.
Admissions: Admission deadline is rolling.
Alumni: Over 650 Edge graduates are now continuing their passion for sport and leadership. Many are attending universities all over North America including Harvard, Yale, and Princeton to name a few.
Facilities: Edge School is a 170,000 square foot facility, built in 2008 with complete academic amenities and a state-of-the-art sports complex. The Jim Davidson Sports Complex is a world-class athletic, recreational and community-use facility and includes two NHL-sized arenas, gymnasium with two NBA-sized courts, high-performance training centre, three professional dance studios, golf centre and a sports medicine clinic.
Governance: The Edge School Society was founded in 1999. It is a non-profit charitable organization governed by a Board of Directors. Our charitable number is 865586747 RT0001.
The Edge School Foundation was established as the fundraising body for the school. It is governed by a Board of Directors that secures friends and funds through building relationships to support the Edge School in areas such as programs, scholarships, financial aid, endowment and capital campaigns.
