Joel O’Nyons

Middle School Humanities Teacher, High School Sports Performance

Joel began teaching in 2021 and spent three years with Foothills School Division, teaching in Okotoks, High River and Diamond Valley. While he specialized in Secondary English during his Education degree, he has taught all Grades from Kindergarten to Grade 12, in a range of subjects including Physical Education, Social Studies, Sports Performance, and Outdoor Expedition.

He was born and raised in England until the age of eight, and has lived in Calgary since then. Joel is a huge fan of soccer, having played for all of his life, and is an avid supporter of Birmingham City, as well as the English National team. Some other sports and activities that he is passionate about include weight training, hiking, yoga, tennis, and MMA.

Joel is enthusiastic about teaching and looks forward to continuing to support students in their development as learners and athletes.
