Denise Johnston is a caring, compassionate teacher with 21 years of teaching experience. Denise works hard to make sure all of her students achieve their version of “personal excellence” in all that they do. To Denise, her job is more than educating her students. She empowers her students to be good humans and constantly strive to be the “best” version of themselves.
Denise played basketball at Acadia University for three seasons, and once had a summer job with Basketball New Brunswick teaching basketball camps around the province. She also used to coach provincial teams for Team New Brunswick.
Denise had quite a few accomplishments during her basketball playing career:
- When playing for Team New Brunswick was named the Atlantic Championship MVP
- Female Athlete of the Year of her high school
- Rookie of the Year – UNBSJ Defensive Player of the Year – Acadia University
- CIAU Academic All-Canadian (Two years at Acadia University)

Bachelor of Physical Education with a major in Education and minor in Math and Science – Acadia University
