Edge Foundation Board

The Edge School vision of being a global leader in student-athlete development is supported by the Edge School Foundation through developing alumni connections and a strong philanthropic culture within the School community of student-athletes, parents, alumni, and its academic, athletics, and administrative staff team.

The Foundation Board volunteers are dedicated to increasing community awareness, building relationships, and fundraising.

Edge School Foundation Board members

Dale Unruh, Chair  Dale and his wife, Renee have three sons, Nick, Dale Jr, and Henry. Dale is a native of Fort McMurray, Alberta and an entrepreneur who understands the value of hard work and sincerely cares about making a difference, both professionally and personally. He currently leads the Quality Group of Companies. Dale has been a long-time supporter of the Edge School and has served on the Foundation Board as Chair since 2010.

Don McDonald, Vice Chair  Don is father to Edge alumni, Doug (hockey) and current student Elizabeth (dance). Founder and president of McDonald Luxury Homes, he is a respected entrepreneur and leader with over 20-years experience in growing businesses, and serving clients. In addition to his support of the Edge School, Don is an advocate of Red Cross initiatives. Don joined the Foundation Board in 2018.

Paul Charron  Paul is currently Executive Chairman and CEO of Ridgeback Resources. He has held executive positions in a number of Calgary-based energy companies in Calgary throughout his career. Paul serves as the Chair of the Edge School Society.

Jim Crozier  Jim is a business owner and has resided in Calgary since 2009. Jim and his wife Kerry have three children – Edge alumni Tristan and Maxwell, and current Edge student Julianne– who all play hockey as their primary sport. Through gifts, leadership, and time, Kerry and Jim are generous supporters of many non-profits and charities. Jim has served on the Edge School Foundation Board since 2014, and on the Edge School Society Board since 2016.

Michelle Gayse Leader  As a parent of an Edge student-athlete, Michelle is honoured to share her experience as an executive with the Alberta Media Production Industries Association board, and make and share connections. Her goal as a director for the Edge Foundation board is to use her expertise as a broadcast journalist to bring awareness to all the exciting initiatives underway and in development at the school, with a focus on the stories of people behind them.

Tim Harvie  Tim grain farms and ranches in the Cochrane area and is father to Ian, Edge Alumni (hockey). He is a graduate of the University of Alberta with a degree in Agriculture and was involved with farm organizations for many years. Along with the Edge School Foundation, he serves on the Glenbow Ranch Park Foundation and Park Board, and chairs the Cochrane Foundation.

Lisette Lockyer  Lisette is the mother of two student-athletes at Edge, Cooper (soccer) and Neela (dance).  She is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at the Alberta Children’s Hospital.  Lisette 's previous board experience includes several years as the director of the competitive programs for Canmore Minor Soccer.

Sue Miller   Sue and her husband, Kevin, are originally from Saskatchewan, and proud to call Alberta home for many years now. She has a diverse background in sales, marketing and event management within various industries. The Millers are strong advocates of private schools, believing that parents should have choices in their children’s education. Their son, Dylan was enrolled at Edge with the launch of the Basketball Program in 2018.

Barbara Robson  Barbara and husband Jeff are parents to three Edge alumni and one current student. Their children have been part of the Hockey Skills Academy, Edge Bantam Varsity Team, Edge Golf Academy, and Flex - Volleyball. Barb has served on several committees including the Edge Graduation committee for three  years, 2020 Alberta Winter Games, and the Ladies of Professional Rodeo, in addition to several other school and community endeavours.

Scott Salmond  Scott lives in Calgary with his wife, Darcee, and two sons, Brodan and Oliver. Named Hockey Canada’s senior vice president of hockey operations/national teams in 2018, Scott originally joined Hockey Canada in 2001 after five years at BC Hockey. He has been involved in the successful competition of numerous Team Canada hockey teams and has served on the Edge School Foundation Board since 2012.
