Jeff Shantz

  • We are pleased to announce that Jeff Shantz, a former National Hockey League player, has been named Head Coach of the Edge School Bantam Prep Hockey Team
  • Jeff has made a significant impact in the short period of time that he has been part of our Edge Team
  • Jeff’s passion for education, sport and helping student-athletes develop both on and off the ice is critical
  • Jeff is part of a very accomplished and educated Hockey Staff including former U-Sports coaches, Hockey Canada and Hockey Alberta High Performance Stream coaches, Junior Coaches and Olympians, committed to the development of all student-athletes

Kevin Bathurst

  • Kevin has decided to move on to pursue other opportunities; this is effective immediately
  • Over his 4.5 years, Kevin has contributed greatly to our culture, our team and to making a true difference for our student-athletes
  • During his time at Edge, Kevin has also been very involved with the growth and development of our Spring and Summer Hockey Programming
  • Battie’s infectious laugh and attitude will be missed and we wish him nothing but the best

Evan Bak

  • We are pleased to announce that Evan Bak will be moving into a new role as our Manager, Programming (effective April 2nd)
  • Evan will be focused on:
    • Leading our Hockey Skill Academy – this year, Evan has been the lead for HSA and he will continue his work with our coaches and guest instructors to enhance this very important component of our organization
    • Leading both Spring and Summer Hockey
    • Organizing and coordinating our Video and Goaltending coaching
    • Identifying opportunities to grow additional after-school programming
    • During the hockey season, Evan will also serve as an assistant coach (for all-Edge Hockey Teams as opposed to being dedicated to one program)

Bantam Varsity

  • We have begun the search process for our new Bantam Varsity Head Coach
  • We will be looking for an individual who is a strong teacher, communicator and role model to help develop our student-athletes on and off-the ice, preparing them for the next level
  • When the search is complete, we will provide an update to all families; our goal is to have a coach in place in advance of Evaluations in May, but at the same time, we will not rush the process as this is a key decision

Midget Coaches

  • We are fortunate to have quality individuals at our Midget level
  • These high-end coaches include Carla MacLeod, James Poole, Josh Gosling and Kelly Mruk
