2018 CLIMB Awards

June 21st

Alumni are the face of Edge School and a true measure of our success. You are the School’s greatest ambassadors. By celebrating your accomplishments, we not only recognize your passion and dedication, we tell the Edge story in a powerful way.

This year, we are pleased to honour Dan Bertram (Class of 2004) and Allie Bertram (Class of 2007) as the 2018 CLIMB Award recipients.

Dan Bertram

Allie Bertram

Dan Bertram is currently the Vice President of Business Development for Alaris Royalty Corp. He is a member of Edge School’s first graduating class in 2004. He went on to complete his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance at Boston College, where he was the assistant captain of the NCAA champion hockey team. Dan also won two gold medals with Team Canada at the IIHF World Junior Championships and was a second round draft pick of the Chicago Blackhawks.

Allie Bertram is a professional actress who has performed in multiple film and television roles. She is often recognized for her performance in So You Think You Can Dance Canada, where she was a top two finalist in 2008. Allie was one of the first dancers to attend Edge School and helped pave the way for future Edge dancers. She has continued to be a strong supporter of the school and was the alumni speaker at the 2010 graduation ceremony.

Launched in 2017, the CLIMB Awards recognize Edge School Alumni who have demonstrated distinction as Edge Community Leaders and Inspiring Mountaineer Builders.

Selection as a CLIMB Awards recipient is grounded in The Mountaineer Code and the commitment that students make when they become members of the Edge School community: “I pledge to live the code, with pride, always.”

As a Mountaineer:

“I know the way, go the way and show the way.
I give all I’ve got, all the way, all the time.
I embrace adversity in a positive way.
I act in a respectful way, all the time.”

CLIMB Award recipients will be selected based on advancing and representing the code, and the values of the school – leadership, effort, attitude, dignity – in their careers and their communities.
